Tricky Quiz – 4

Answer

The Answer is ” 42

Explanation

If you are scratching your head as to why the answer is 42,
read on for the explanation.

1st line:

3 trees with 4 apples each = 60
Hence, each tree with 4 apples = 20
2nd line:

1 apple + 2 bunches of 3 bananas each = 20
3rd line:

1 tree + 2 apples = 16
1 tree + 4 apples = 20 (1st line)
1 tree + 2 apples = 16 (3rd line)

Therefore,

2 apples = 20 – 16 = 4
1 tree = 12 and 1 apple = 2
1 apple + 6 bananas = 20 (2nd line)

Therefore,

6 bananas = 20 – 2 = 18
1 banana = 3
4th line:

1 apple x (1 tree with 3 apples) + 2 bananas = ?
By substituting the values of apple, tree and banana,

2 x (12 + 6) + (2 x 3) = 2 x 18 + 6 = 42
